When the harsh winter weather hits England it often everybody’s first idea to get away to hotter climates. There are plenty of places that offer high temperatures and sun while Britain is covered in cloud and rain it is just a case of what you want the holiday to offer you. Some of the best locations to get away from the British winter weather are:
Morocco – based near the North Atlantic Sea and the Mediterranean Sea in the north of Africa it is a highly popular destination for those wanting to escape winter weather.
it almost always has sunshine when Britain is coping with its winter and not only does it have good weather to offer there is also the history of its cities known as Imperial Cities. One of the Imperial Cities is Fès it was built in the 8th Century and has a few certain sites that are of most interest to visitors such as the Nejjarine Square and Fountain.
This fountain along with many others in the city have been restored to their former glory over the years to try and preserve the history of the city as much as possible, with them restored they look beautiful once more. Another highly popular destination but with a livelier feel is Marrakech this has the old feel with mosaics and fountains with large museums and mosques. As well as this history though it also has the city square where at night time it really comes alive with fortune tellers, dancers, acrobats and even snake charmers.
Tunisia – this is a city again situated near the Mediterranean Sea in the North of Africa. There are lots of different activities available in Tunisia including camel riding, walks and the beaches of course and although the city may still seem fairly old fashioned its not far to travel for more modern facilities. One of the most well known attractions of this city is The Great Mosque this is regarded as the fourth most important place to Muslims for worship and prayer. The original mosque of that site is no longer standing but restoration work has created an amazing building with over 400 pillars supporting the outer courtyard..
It also has many remains of Roman Temples around which prove very popular with visitors and show the great history behind the area.
There are plenty more places you can go to get away from the bad British weather at winter time so if you need help deciding where you want to go exactly just ask a travel agent they should be able to give you a good idea of what places would suit you needs.
