There are now plenty of different ways for you to book your holidays because of the advancing technology you can now book holidays over the internet, teletext, over the phone and going into a travel agents. Before you go on your holiday there are certain things you need to make sure you have especially if you are planning on going to a destination that has specific requirements for entry. Some of the different documents and other requirements you may need when travelling to certain countries are:

  • Booking A HolidayImmunisations – These immunisations vary from country to country as each country has different risks to people health wise. Generally you would meet your doctor around 6 weeks before going on your holiday to discuss possible vaccinations you may need for where you are travelling to. It is important for you to make sure all precautions are taken because some of the illnesses you can catch whilst abroad can be very harmful. This is especially important in the case of children travelling as they can be affected more so than adults.
  • Getting a passport – In the UK to get a passport initially you will need photographic evidence along with a counter sign on the back of one of the photographs stating it is in fact you by a respectable person that has known you for a period of time (such as a teacher etc), proof of your address and usually your birth certificate as well. You can apply for a passport either over the internet or going into one of the many regional offices they have so you can get an express one day service. Travelling to many countries you will need a ten year passport and for your passport to have at least 6 months out standing after the date you enter the country.
  • Booking A HolidayVisas – A visa is similar to a passport in the way that you have to have certain evidential documents in order to apply for one. However, there are different kinds of visa there are immigrant visas; these are for those that want to live permanently in the country they are visiting so take a few more security measures to apply for them and get one successfully. Then there are non-immigrant visas; these are basically for those that want to stay temporarily in the country for work or other reasons such as medical care or visiting family for a period of time.
